Description

Management accounting is a profession that helps managers control finances that can be implemented in accordance with the organisational strategy. This course will give managers who are running departments, and business owners, an understanding of management accounting and the various methods associated with the practice. Management accounting is a critical part of analysing financial data that helps managers make better decisions, devise plans and monitor performance. The course includes:

Understanding what management accounting is

How to assess relevant costs for short-term decision-making

Understand capital expenditure and investment decision-making

Understand risk and uncertainty in long-term investment decisions

Learn the methods of costing including the traditional absorption method and the ABC system

Learn how to use budgets including management budgets for production and the cash budget

Evaluating divisional performance for larger organisations

Understand the practice of transfer pricing and how it affects a division's performance

Management Accounting for Non-Specialist managers is not a financial accounting course and does not include bookkeeping. The course is focused on management accounting for people who are not in a specialist financial position.
