DescriptionThis course is an introduction to the process and skills of performance coaching. It is primarily aimed at new managers, supervisors, and team leaders. It has been designed for people who are unable to attend a face-to-face programme but wish to learn the basics of coaching so they can introduce it into their day-to-day practice at work.Whilst this course will cover the fundamentals of coaching, to become a good coach you will need to practice. At points throughout the course you will be prompted to take a break from the programme and practice what you have learnt. If you are able to get someone to observe your coaching practice, that will be great (an observation form to help with this is included in the course). If you are unable to do this, then we encourage self-reflection following a coaching session (a self-reflection form is also included in the course). The course will cover the following:What coaching is and what it isn'tThe skills of a coach, with a particular focus on questioning and listeningUnderstanding motivation and how this can help the coachThe importance of self-coaching and how to self-coachWhere to go next in your coaching journey
